The next recording will be a double cd of Ballads recorded in May 2022 at Oktoven  Studios with Gary Versace - Piano and Francois Moutin  - Bass. I first formed the Trio in 2012 with Francois and Frank Kimbrough @ The 55 Bar. We had a monthly residency which helped in developing a sound that we thought was unique. The only stipulation I imposed was that all the compositions had to be ballads. I had just lost my studio and instruments and my mother's music library dating back to the 16th. Century to Hurricane Sandy. As well as Philly Joe's drum set, a full recording studio and a brand new Yamaha C6. The marriage fell through not long after. The only music I was listening to were ballads. The only music that gave me any peace. Vocals, Instrumentals, lots of Blues and R & B. As much as I could grab from the Great American Songbook. Then digging through what remained of my mother’s music. Not only Ives and Schoenberg and Bach, but Kern, Ellington, Wilder, Sondheim. Ballads that I had rarely or never heard before. These are the compositions you will hear. They include: Garden in the Rain, Before I kiss the World Goodbye, Lovers and Losers, Show Me, Loss of Love, A Season or Two Ago, Let's Go Home, Give Me Time, Listen to Your Heart, Because of You, Violets for Your Furs, Stay, Photograph, I Wonder Where Our Love has Gone, November (Frank Kimbrough), Listen to Your Heart. Wonderful music and lyrics. Release expected fall/winter 2022.
